DIY Baguette

“You don’t understand. It’s not a bag, it’s a Baguette!” Carrie Bradshaw's -- Frantic pleas may have fallen on deaf ears, but fashionistas watched with bated breath as the mugger threatened to strip Carrie of her purple sequined Baguette.

finally!!!

Ta-daaaaa...!

Over ten years ago, Fendi rode the "It Bag" wave with the Baguette. A long, skinny bag, the Baguette is meant to be tucked under your arm like the French loaf. Since 1997, the Fendi Baguette has wooed and wowed with its minimal shape and bold colors and the Italian fashion house Fendi comes with a new funny concept of handbag. Now, you can have your Fendi Baguette, where “your” means unique and really representing your own style. How is it possible? With this new Fendi limited edition Baguette called Mezzo Punto. That I recently got from Net-A-Porter.

Mezzo punto” is Italian for “half stitch”, so you have to bring this canvas bag, a needle and all your fantasies! There are in this Fendi DIY box also diagrams and illustrations help beginning sew up.

“Fendi strongly believes that creativity and the flow of ideas are the Fuel for the Future. Forever.”

Viola!

As an artist, designer & fashion addict myself  I had to get my hands on this unique piece of art.  I like to think that  the process of rediscovering the power and the beauty of “Fatto a Mano” would exalt pure creativity by putting attention on traditional materials and low tech skills. I wanted  to create  something distinctive, elegant & clever. And after a lot of thinking & sketching this is what I ended up with! After all, it is a big challenge that's either a complete success or a complete failure. Thoughts?
