Stepping Into The Next Decade In My Loubies

Ta-Daaaa...!

Like a true STF, I dress up on New Years Eve even if I'll just be spending it on the couch with my sister and Ryan Seacrest. Or partying at the Pent with family & friends. This year I'm pretty sure I'll be greeting 2010 in a stunning pair of Loubies. Here's why...

I like to start every year in style and set a precedent, a theme if you will,  for the months to come. And since I don't want a year, literally or figuratively, of kaftans & sweat socks - That's what I am wearing right now! LOL - I usually style outfits together starting with the shoes. I'm thinking what will satisfy my current craving for sleek, atypical with little added flush. (You know I love my shiny stuff.) This gorgeous Ulona sandals by M. Louboutin is going to be the winner! Especially paired with a LBSD or just with expensive leggings and a simple designer top. What are you wearing for NYE?^^

System Restore

So, obviously, I took my time getting back to my "system" of sleep. When my alarm went off this morning at 8:00, all I wanted to do is stretch my arm out the window effortlessly & throw my blackberry out & never see it again!  It took an hour & 25 minutes of 10-minute snoozing & jumping out of my skin every time my alarm went off again before I dragged my feet out of bed.

Anyways, after getting ready I started off the day with a hot cup of coffee. Then slipped into my pretty ballerinas & bounced to Obsession, a beauty & personal care centre. Having so much free time lately, I've been obsessed with pampering myself with all kind of treatments. And my latest discovery is LPG Cellu M6. This is the treatment that I'm into ATM. It's almost like Velashape the one that Kim Kardashian did for her cellulite. It's not that I have much, I'm just aiming for perfection. *ggls* I know, I know no one is. But I mean what's the harm in wanting to be comfortable in your own skin. Right?

Sarah Blasko: A Very Stylish Girl

Sarah Blasko is a musician and singer who was born in Sydney Australia in 1976, and I am ashamed to tell you that although I have known of Sarah for quite some time, it is only now that I have discovered her magical, ethereal voice and her elegant and witty style.

Sarah is not the sort of singer to be found on top 40 radio. But her refusal to be pigeonholed is reflected in her moody, ethereal sound, and she remains a welcome change of pace from the saturated folk marketplace.  I love that Sarah's music and style is far from the mainstream.

Sarah's current ARIA award winning album.

Sarah's sense of style could be mistaken for being quite conservative, but I believe that just because she chooses clothing that covers her body, rather than exploiting it, what is most apparent about her style is that she likes to have fun with her look by injecting humour into her outfits.  She does this in the little touches such as a bow-tie, or a dress with extreme shoulders, or it could simply be the pattern or colour of the dress fabric.  What I admire is she does this while all the while looking confident and feminine when performing whether it is on stage or in a music video.

A veteran of the music industry, Sarah has the sort of fame that most of her peers would kill for. She’s anonymous enough that she doesn’t have to worry about the paparazzi, yet she has a strong, fiercely loyal following that anticipates her new stuff with excitement. And, although she’s best-known in her native land of Australia, Sarah has slowly but surely gained traction in the rest of the world thanks to her tireless touring schedule.

As intelligent as she is talented, Sarah is obviously determined to ensure that her music speaks for itself. It’s difficult not to respect that, particularly given that she possesses the sort of looks that seem to appeal to the mainstream and could’ve easily branded herself as yet another impossibly pretty singer.

Here is a little taste of the very lovely voice that is Sarah Blasko:

Sarah’s status as a thoroughly unique presence within the music industry has been firmly cemented, as has her unique sense of style and presence.

I hope you enjoy this new series of style profiles.  I hope to bring you more lesser known stylish ladies to your attention over the next little while.

Vintage Treasure

The little black dress, as much a 21th-century fashion phenomenon as trousers for women. Has found a place in every women's wardrobe along with her other fashion basics: T-shirts, jeans and trench coat. Since the famous "Ford" dress created by Coco Chanel, every self-respecting couturier and fashion designer has brought out their own version of the LBD.

Successively singled out by Edith Piaf -- the existentialists' symbol and standard-bearer for the revival of haute couture.

Later a must of the ladies of the bourgeoisie, the LBD is now the ultimate in fashion for a whole new generation whose eyes are riveted on Helmut Lang, Gucci, Prada and other famous names in today's fashion.
