Hermès Bond Girls - FW 10/11

Experts Review

The burnt orange box with chocolate lettering is recognized the world over by Hermès luxe-loving fans —from Kate Moss to Martha Stewart— many of whom are prepared to patiently wait years for a coveted handbag. It's the latest chapter in the long and rich history of the house founded by Thierry Hermès in 1837 as a maker of harnesses for the rich and royal.

As you can see The Avengers, theme was portrayed through out the show. Pourquoi? Actually I think the idea of the spoofy power-woman stereotype is genius! I love the bags, everything crocodile, chic attire (Note: Gaultier, illustrated leopard prints in a very elegant way) & my personal fav the masculine tailoring, an awesome trend that  seems to continue all the way through next season. As for the bowler hats and furled umbrellas were clearly the bits and pieces of the Spymaster out of the James Bond movie, Love! Such a clever approach from Jean Paul Gaultier, who was first of all, able to build sly fun of the kinky-fetish pieces of so much black leather-wearing. Something that surely crossed the minds of lots of designers this season. Secondly, Gaultier still managed to stay true to the classic Hermès values. Defiantly a collection I am looking forward to.

XOXO
