´´This season I built the collection around the contrast between a contemporary urban feel and the glamorous days of the international jet-set in the late Sixties and early Seventies´´ said Giannini. She designed a women's collection for Gucci that was inspired by Ziggy Stardust, a persona adopted by David Bowie in the early 1970s. The collection feature minimalist shapes, understated elegance and pushes an alluring combination of neutral shades with signature details. Besides the usual Gucci glamour we saw pieces that were a little more downtoned and more wearable. Short skirts and turtlenecks were topped by long, military-influenced coats and paired with above-the-knee boots or open strappy high heels. This collection felt like 70's glamour with an edge: luxurious and effortless, they feel like bare essentials for a twenty-first-century wild child.
My favourite: the cocktail dresses in black crepe anchored with studded metalwork on the neckline and shoulders.

*Tell me what you think of this collection!*
