This Is One Angelina Jolie Rumor We Can Put To Rest

Turns out we won't get to see Angelina Jolie as Marilyn Monroe after all: her rep (and the 'Salt' actress herself) have shot down that rumor.

[T]he Oscar winner's rep tells the Los Angeles Times: "Angelina is NOT attached to this project."

Jolie, who has been promoting Salt in Europe this week, also shot down the report.

"This is a new rumor," she told reporters at the Salt premiere in London Monday. "It sounds very nice – I just haven't got the phone call yet. You guys will probably know before I do."

It was author Andrew O'Hagan who reportedly said Angelina was going to play Marilyn Monroe in the film adaptation of his novel 'The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and His Friend Marilyn Monroe.'

Maybe it was wishful thinking or maybe the film producers were considering approaching her and the author just "jumped the gun," so to speak. I still can't imagine Angelina as Marilyn, I have to admit.
