Her hair is usually loose, and her make-up is always subtle. It's the less is more look, a refined casual elegance of which I am a huge fan. I cannot bear to be over-dressed when I go out, however being under-dressed is even worse a sin. That's why I favour Sofia's style. It is easy, confident and non-fussy.
Sofia favours a look that does not make her stand out in the crowd. She appears to want to blend into the crowd, not to be noticed. But it is not possible for this lady to appear as one of the crowd.
I have been collecting pictures of Sofia in my style story scrapbooks for years now. You could say I have been stalking her through the pages of Vogue, et al.
This is Sofia in work mode on the set of her film Marie Antoinette. Her wardrobe is probably the last thing on her mind when she is directing, but here she has managed to look typical Sofia wearing a man-style collared-shirt - a look she has favoured in the past.

Sofia has been living in Paris for some time now, she has become the quintessential American in Paris. My guess is being surrounded by all those chic Parisian femmes has rubbed off on her because her style certainly evolved. She's more classy now I would say. Oui plus chic.
Although I have been accused of being the Queen of Casual by some of my friends, I don't think that being casual means that a person doesn't know how to dress up, for it is quite clear that Sofia has no problem in glamming up! (Erm, neither do I for that matter.)
I think I understand now what it is about Sofia that keeps me going back for more.
She has that elusive gift that Parisian women have for dressing intelligently and with no ego.
She is elegant and sexy but alluring and complex too.
Oui plus sexy!
