Issa and Net-a-Porter Launch a Capsule Collection

When Kate Middleton announced her engagement in a sapphire Issa frock, the small London-based label became the hottest tag on the market. This April, Net-a-Porter is giving shoppers the royal treatment with an Issa cocktail capsule collection stocked with dresses that "can be worn from the beach to the office and then onto the red carpet," according to designer Daniella Helayel. If you're a fan of Middleton's navy palette, expect a short, lace-sleeved number in the same hue. Otherwise, opt for Helayel's India-inspired jewel tones and flirty silhouettes. Fashionable Caviar... Mais Oui!

Caviar shows up at fashion events almost as often as Harley Viera-Newton. So it makes sense that Caviar Kaspia would get a designer involved. Known for her stylishly-spot-on-eye, they've asked her to model items from the Tibi rack that she hand-picked herself. The former City star poses in front of fake backdrops of the most fashionable cities. The informal tone of the campaign is intended to bring a twist to the street style snapshot that you’ve seen on so many fashion blogs. Clever, no? :-PpP... I have to admit! NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

I’m starting my 2011 resolutions early this year. No more New Year’s Day panic decisions for me. On the list is learning a foreign language, seeing more of the world and taking up cooking classes, but what I’ve given most thought to are my fashion resolutions. I need to shake it up!

Here’s what I’ve decided to do a little differently next year…

 

START MY FASHION ARCHIVE

I simply love Alexander McQueen clothes. I plan on wearing and keeping hold of them for years to come.  


EMBRACE COLOR!

 

As someone pointed out, I do rather like wearing black. Next season that’s going to change. I’m taking baby steps and teaming these Brian Atwood pumps with a black shirt dress. 

TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT…

It’s so easy to fall into a style rut and wear the same outfit day in, day out. I’m going to give playsuits a go, followed by track pants and heels à la Alexander Wang. Not at the same time.

INVEST, INVEST, INVEST!

2011 is going to be about investing in style classics that chic up entire outfits. Buying my Christian Louboutin shoes was a high point in my 2010 shopping calendar and I plan on making this Victoria Beckham crocodile bag my treat for 2011.

Pick Of The Week

The Saint-Tropez show for Chanel's 2011 cruise collection was utterly awe-inspiring. Stylish men and women gathered at the café Sénéquier Patisserie while models paraded along the boardwalk in carefree, beach-chic clothing. Aside from the clothes, one of the standouts from the show was the pale blue nail polish that adorned both the models' hands and mostly-bare feet. I've  been waiting months, and Chanel has finally released the color, aptly named Riva. It is, of course, limited edition, so if you aspire to look like Chanel's Riviera beauties (and who doesn't?), now is the time.

Un Jour Dans Ma Vie: 24 Hours in Paris

Fun AROUND THE CLOCK in the City Of Light

9:20 A.M. MORNING HOURS After all the wake-up call(s) to get going in the morning. I turn on MTV and  tune into Alors On Danse playing in the background, while I start my fashion prep and settle on my outfit: gray Tibi Mohair wool-blend cardi-coat, Printed silk-chiffon dress, Rick Owens Extra long cashmere tights, and my fox Carolina Herrera scarf, because Paris has been freeezzzing. 

10:35 A.M. BREAKFAST Entered the Hôtel Plaza Athénée breakfast room, Supreme, Joining Latee for a plate of scrambled eggs and cappuccino. I always enjoy the company of my sister, with her hilarious jokes xD *heart*

12:11 P.M. L'AVENUE  Strutting around Avenue Montaigne, much oohing and ahhing done over the latest collections at my fave boutiques.  

1:17 P.M. PLACE VENDOME STOP  Jewellery shopping. In Paris, For this business, it's the perfect location and hub.  —Then we head to Chanel Cambon to get the latest from the house. I'm loving the vibe of the clothes.

2:15 P.M. LUNCH AT COLETTE We drive by our favorite spot, downstairs at Colette is the Water Bar, for a burger and Coca Lagerfeld. "...and Feel lucky we're eating before it's dark out." —It's such a trendy place. Then we head upstairs where the clothing gets couture-esque! 

3:55 P.M. PLAYING CATCH-UP Joined some friends over tea at Kong (Ah-maz-ing decor and wonderful view!), since we couldn't make it on time for lunch. —Then we're off to Lafayette for a quick shopping spree. And stopped by Café Pouchkine for a cup of coffee and dessert. 

5:44 P.M. LUXURY MUST  Back at the hotel, and ready to pamper myself at The Dior Institut. What better way to prepare for a night on the town in the City of Lights?

8:35 P.M. SOIREE  Now we make our way to Hotel Costes  for dinner. "You can eat here all day, I absolutely love it."

11:12 P.M. BEDTIME Ready for some shut-eye, only to do it all over tomorrow.
