Final Call

Writing you this post, from my ride under the plane, while waiting to get on it *ggls* :-PpP... Meanwhile, I'll share with you some of my wisdom^^. A trip can be just a trip. Or it can be an experience with happy returns. Whether it's business or pleasure, make the most of it. There's luxury in silk mask, as well as the personal time on board away from cell phones. Have a cup of coffee and there's catching up with trashy tabloids and fashion magazines. At your destination after, the workday is done, treat yourself to a meal at the hottest new restaurant or a massage at the hotel spa. "Traveling stylishly is the height of glamour" -- Words to live by while hovering a mile high in the sky. Gotta go now. Until we meet again lovelies (K)

Lots of Love

Best & Worst Dressed at the Globes!

A-listers from the silver screen and the small screen meet, mingle and sizzle on the red carpet.

Kate Huson, The glowing star is the belle of the ball in her exquisite, structured white Marchesa gown, matching Casadei pumps and Stephen Russell diamond jewelry.
~H Loves it!

Anna Kendrick, has yet to hit her fashion side.  It's quite a shame, the best supporting actress nominee is so cute and perky. But this Marchesa gown is too fussy with the one-shoulder ruffle and floral embellishments that it overtakes her tiny frame and makes her look almost matronly. ~H Hates it!

Anna Kendrick Is 'Over' George Clooney

LOL!! xD

Lea Michele, Now that's something to sing about! The Glee star rocked this look. I mean, what could be more PERFECT than a fairytale black Oscar de la Renta gown? Just add on her Chopard emerald and diamond jewelry, and you have a red carpet high note. I DIE! ~H Definitely Loves it! ❤_❤

Marion Coltillard, Staying true to Christian Dior as she's the face of the brand's Lady Dior bag . The best actress nominee is runway-ready in her bottle green satin gown, Jimmy Choo sandals, Roger Vivier clutch and Chopard diamonds. très très chic ~H Loves it!^^

Globes' Best Accessory: An Umbrella!

What happens when it rains in L.A.? Cameron Diaz, Gerard Butler and others make it work!

Cameron Diaz, What coordination! The blond bombshell looks red-hot in a slinky Alexander McQueen dress that matches her umbrella and the wet carpet.

Gerard Butler, There's no washing away 's this scottmen's swagger. Don't you just love em?!

"The technology is nothing. Talk to the hairstylists. It was an Aqua Net kind of day!"
– Jennifer Garner, to E!, on how she managed to preserve her do

"I just really want to go to The Olive Garden."
– Taylor Lautner, on what he'd do if the paparazzi weren't around
LOL xD

And that's all from the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2010, until next time folks^^

XOXO

Making of a Bon Voyage

Purpose: Holiday

Weather Report: Cold

Packing:    I always stick to the basics, when it comes to packing my suitcase. Or it'll quickly bulk up. That includes color. Black, brown, & cream are my fav. I start with a great turtleneck, always cashmere, because it's the warmest and least bulky. Think layers, such as tank tops & silky camisoles. See when you travel during winter, you'll need to wear camisoles under your fashionable clothes. Cause them alone aren't enough to warm you up. I'll need jeans, especially pull on's -- in other words jeggings I LUV the person who created em. If you are reading this, thank you for making our lives much easier *ggls*. What I love most about wearing em is that it's SO comfy, I don't have to worry about bouncing around town & feeling uncomfortable in my jeans. I also love patterns, I'm so into Missoni. A light dress is okay, I guess? Depending on the coat. Otherwise going with wool or other heavier fabric in a sexy silhouette. Also hosiery, but never  skin colored. Almost forgot belts, one or two to cinch in bulky sweaters or dresses at the waist.

And a wrap that can double as a scarf & a shawl. As well as a  sexy fur jacket or vest, glams up any outfit. If there is room I pack two one dressy and one more casual (Personally, I always go for a cream coat over a black because it looks more exciting & richer.) Hats are a MUST! (a snood, a newboy, a beanie cap, a floppy wool beret, anything that folds away), gloves, and even sunglasses (to stave off the blinding sunlight bouncing of the snow.)What did I miss?^^ This is no time to over look shoes either. I know that I should go for comfortable yet chic pair of walking shoes. But I can't just leave my loubies behind... Thoughts?

XOXO

Summer Dressing Workshop

Kate looks fab in her little white dress.

Dressing for Summer is hard work.  As I am fast becoming aware, it takes a lot more thought and your personal body upkeep is constant and unrelenting.    Shaving, waxing, moisturising, self-tanning, pedicures and nail polish, OMG!

Hats are a necessity in summer.

I have very quickly become aware of what an easy life I had living in the cooler climates.  If I forgot to shave my legs, well I would simply wear tights.  If I couldn't be bothered to moisturise, again, don some jeans or tights.  Black was my uniform and boots my best friend.  Even though I lived at the beach, our beach was not frequented by beach bunnies and bikini clad babes.  It was a place to exercise your dog and to collect shells and sea glass.  Period!

Bar Rafaeli in her denim cut-offs, blouse and heels, very chic.  This long skirt and white tee is favourite summer look for me, I too like to add a light-weight scarf when needed.

Since moving back to the coast, I have had to evolve rapidly into a much more high-maintenance woman and let me tell you, it is not all fun and games!  It is true however, that once I am in a routine, it's not really that difficult to keep up with the waxing, shaving, self-tanning, etc, but if you let it slide for just a few days, boy there is so much to catch up on!

I am making my own version of the little summer dress below for my girls Annabel and Chloe.  They are going to look so cute!

Kate in one of her little summer dresses.  A wardrobe staple I think!

When I was a kid my skin was used to being in the sun, I was tanned from spending endless days at the beach and my skin never burned.  But as I grew older and moved away from the coast, my skin became paler from the lack of exposure to the sun and I became quite obsessed with sun protection.  I have worn an SPF on my face every day for over 10 years now (and the proof is that I have no lines on my face as a result of my vigilance) and I wear sunglasses and hats at all times, even in the winter.  I can see sun damage on my arms from years of sun exposure, but all I can do about that is exfoliate and continue to cover up.  As we all should be doing.

Layering isn't just for cooler weather.  Cropped light-knits and flowing, belted dresses look classy and chic.  I'm loving this look.

Colourful Gucci and the ubiquitous summer trilby.

Some stylish strangers in their summer attire.

Summer dressing is not easy for some women.  Some of us don't like to bare our skin and not because they don't want skin damage either - we can't all look like Gisele, so in order to make the most of our own looks in the summer time.  You don't have to wear white or pale colours either.  Black is still viable and very wearable, but colour is key and jeweled colours on our clothes or accessories always look gorgeous in the summer sun, don't you think?  Shades of nude and the palest of pinks and grey look classy too.

Give it your best shot, you know you won't regret it!

Snake Charmer

Snake, known as the Chinese little dragon. Is always the token of wisdom, youth and authority from the ancient days. In Greek Roman time, golden snake-shaped bracelet was usually the element of jewellery and decoration. Rigid crutches for ancient emperors are frequently engraved of snake, symbolizing the long-lasting youth and eternal life. Bulgari inoculated with the ideal literature of Greek Roman legend, integrates the meaning of snake into the design of jewels and wristwatches, presenting the art masterpieces exquisite beyond compare.

Then

Bulgari, first launched the Serpenti wristwatches making from golden K in the later period of 1940. The delicate head of snake looks authentic and the tail enchased with diamonds. The handcraft of its body encircles layer by layer with flexing extension in piped design. Only the goldsmith with experienced craftwork can invent such unique work.

The original collection became famous by none other than miss Cleopatra herself: Elizabeth Taylor, who wore this Bulgari watch while filming in Rome.

Now

Just as snakes magically rejuvenate, so did Bulgari, who brought sssssexy back this fall with a rebirth of their Serpenti.

Loads of celebs are wearing the Serpenti wristwatch.

Charlize Theron, was spotted wearing the latest version of the Serpenti wrist bracelet last year.

& Here’s Chloe Sevigny sporting a vintage Bulgari snake wristwatch.

Bulgari’s take on the snake for 2009 is strictly limited-edition and big-time joaillerie. I bought this pink gold Serpenti watch set with diamonds, onyx & black mother of pearl. But unfortunately it hasn’t arrived yet from Italy! Caaan’t wait any longer! >.<

Out with the old and in with the New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  We have been moving into our new house this past week and so I have been away from the world of blogging, email and all that other stuff.  It felt good to be disconnected for a while, but after a week I was beginning to get a little "antsy in my pantsy" - so to speak!

I have just returned from taking my dog Jet for her morning frolic and it is quite a different experience to what we were used to when living in NZ.  The first major difference is that we are not living right at the beach here, but that doesn't stop her from getting her water fix because she has no problem finding the closest creek and plunging straight in!

Another difference is that it is humid and hot and it is tropical and lush and the air is heavy with the scent of mango!  I grew up here and yet I had forgotten how the air becomes intoxicated with the scent of pure fruit.  I love it!

This year is full of promise... I have goals to reach and dreams to live out... I wish you all the best with your hopes and dreams for 2010 and what it brings you.
