Jet Setter

Let me tell you about my year so far. Oops! I  mean last year; Coffee in Paris, shopping in London, a slice of pizza in Milan, took a little nap in Germany,  oh' yeah & sushi in Tokyo. And then jumped back for some sun in Dubai. And all that was before April'09, and the rest was history. I could go on but all I'm saying is, that I'm standing on top of the world! Join me on my jet setter experience buy just a flick.

Spotted: Victoria Beckham, first in Louis Vuitton SS10

This one's hardly surprising, is it? Victoria Beckham has been spotted in Heathrow airport, wearing a Louis Vuitton messenger bag from S/S10 collection. It's no secret that Victoria loves her arm candy (So much that rumor has it she's starting on designing her own handbag collection.)

The gorgeously slouched messenger bag is stylish & relaxed as it hangs across the body & oozes Louis Vuitton bohemian-meets-prairie SS10 styling w fur tail charms & leather tassels. I absolutely adore the tonal gradient coloring too, with pastel peach moving towards burnt orange or shades of pink - complete w LV's signature monogram.

But what's truly in my wish list is this gorgeous croc Dolce & Gabbana. That my sis recently got. *sigh* Tlbsenha bil3afya ya Lati^^ *heart* -- It should also come as no surprise, is then how, insanely jealous we are. And by we I mean me *ggls* Oh to be rich & famous. Unfortunately we'll have to wait a little longer then Ms. Beckham to get our mits on this messenger bag.

Beauty Trends From The Runways SS 2010

1 Colorful Shadows - The most vivid example of spring's happy mood: The candy-colored eye make up. In heaviest rotation were shades of violet, turquoise, orange and mint green, in a range from pastel to electric. But none should be intense that'll appear clownish.

Derek Lam

Dior

Trick of the Trend: Bright shades on its own can be loud, so make up artist ground it w black mascara & a thin stripe of black liner on the lid.

2 Orange-Red Lips - I realized on most of the runway shows, this season's red lips contained a healthy dose of orange. Whether matte or shiny, the shade was usually paired w little more mascara & a bit of foundation.

Prada

Giambattista Valli

3 Swirled Updos - The prettiest Updos were also the least complicated: Stylist simply gathered the hair, wrapped it into a gentle twits and pinned it in. (It's meant to look like the bun is somewhat falling out.)

Dolce & Gabbana

Lanvin

Chanel

4 Braids - Not since Cher in the 70's have thick braids looked so cool. At some shows the look was overly done. In others, the look was sweeter, w the braid placed high on the head.

Miu Miu

Giambattista Valli

5 Intense Lashes - Speechless - to the exaggerated lashes.

Miu Miu

Yves Sain Laurent

6 Muted Shadow - Dusty colors offer a more delicate way to do smokey eyes.

Dolce & Gabbana

"We're softening smoky eyes with brown shadows."
-makeup artist Pat McGrath at Dolce & Gabbana

Chanel

7 Mauve Lips - Personally this is my fav, spring's pink lips! Shades of mauve look sensual when paired w bedroom eyes or when the color has super glossy finish.

Michal Kors

Louis Vuitton

Trick of the Trend: A matte mauve lipstick can look chalky, so go w a creamy or shiny formula, or try a gloss.

8 Head Dressers - At some shows, and by shows I mean TV shows. *ggls* yes you heard me. & I am sure y'all know what show am talking about -- "Gossip Girl". Anyhowww, the accessories in the hair outnumbered those on the body. Combs, barrettes, and headbands were piled on - all were striking. This season at the runway shows, Chanel each model came down the runway w a different accessory. Which I think is super sexy!

Chanel

Dolce & Gabbana

Yves Saint Laurent

9 Rumpled Hair - Hair this season is a little disheveled. & I likey! :-Pp

Versace

10 Shimmery Skin - The effervescent of the season translated into skin that literally glowed. *heart*

City of Life

City of Life is a film, that recently premiered in DIFF. The story line revolves around three lives amongst many cultures in the city of Dubai. A privileged Emirati guy, a less fortunate and disillusioned Indian taxi driver & western women lives are about to collide for better or for worst in a city where ambition, growth & opportunity are encouraged and dreams can manifest. The film is written, produced & directed by Ali F Mostafa a UAE national.

Usually, I won't bother with crud made in Dubai (because it will never show what really goes on here.) But this seems different. It's not like those unreal movies. It's more like movies that portray real lives; stories, taking place in New York, London, Paris, Milan,  or Tokyo & now Dubai! It really gives you an idea about what really is happening in Dubai. Therefore, I so wanna watch it. The trailer made me send my driver out there & asked em to bring me a copy of the dvd. But unfortunately it's not out yet. Check it out & let me know what you think?^^
