Shania Twain Attends A Book Signing At The Grove

After wrapping up her tour in Toronto, Shania Twain made her way to The Grove in Los Angeles in order to promote her new book “From This Moment On”.

During a sit-down with E! News, Shania spoke about how the years of suppressing and repressing her emotions and her voice did so much damage to her vocal cords, that she now suffers from a condition called dysphonia, making it difficult to even speak!

“I had reached a point in my life where there was a bottleneck, physically, in my throat. Something had to give.”
“I’ve only just discovered what’s wrong. Next comes rehabilitation, which will take a long time. Physical rehabilitation, voice therapy, learning how to breath again…and the singing will come.”

The singer hit the very bottom after her divorce from husband Mutt Lange. She said it has taken plenty of soul-searching to pull herself back up.

“During the course of my divorce, I dug a big hole and stopped growing and searching and had given up. I realized I had to climb back out…You can only help yourself. Others can support you. Just asking myself what I was going to do helped make a place for optimism. You start to isolate yourself in your own misery. Why Not? [her new show on OWN] was born from making myself commit to living.”

Shania has literally been through hell and back, first with losing her parents, her struggles growing up and now this?! I feel so terrible for her. SO happy she found love again! I wish her all the best and can not WAIT to read her new book!

Shania Twain Talks About The Breakup Of Her Marriage In New Memoir

Country superstar Shania Twain has kept a relatively low profile for quite some time now, but the singer is about to change that with her new memoir From This Moment On.

In the book Shania speaks openly about her ex-husbands affair with her best friend, her stepfather’s abuse towards her mother and much more. Parade.com has published some excerpts from the book, including these;

On the devastating discovery, in March 2008, that her husband of 14 years was having an affair with her friend and confidante, Marie-Anne…
Twain describes it as “the most shocking and painful truth of my life since the death of my parents twenty years earlier….For the first week after finding out about the affair, I was ready to die–to go to bed forever and never wake up. Or to hurt someone. I was ready to do something desperate, but in reality, there was nothing to do but to suffer through it. Fortunately, when you’re a mom, the responsibility of caring for your child can keep you going.
Twain also describes the intense domestic violence and spousal abuse she witnessed as a child. In the book, she recalls one particular fight between her stepfather and mother… “My mother was a featherweight and so easy to push around. Jerry had her on the bathroom floor by the toilet, and, grabbing her hair, he slammed her head against the side of the basin, knocking her out cold. I could see Jerry repeatedly plunge my mother’s head into the toilet bowl, then pull it out again. I remember wondering, ‘Why is he trying to drown her when she’s already dead?’ I wanted to scream, ‘Stop, you already killed her!’ I wanted to stop him, but I was too afraid…The enormity of that helplessness transferred to me, and I felt as limp as she was.”

 Shania Twain Is Thrilled Over Engagement To Frederic Thiebaud

As you may or may not know, Shania Twain recently got engaged to Frederic Thiebaud. I am so happy for her. After her first marriage to Mutt Lange completely blowing up in her face when he cheated on her with her best friend, she never gave up on love. And now she’s marrying her best friend’s ex-husband.

Shania blogged,

“2010 is leaving me with a renewed faith in love and commitment. … Talking about love, I am excited to share some personal news with you; I’m in love! Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship. Fred and I are happy to announce, our ENGAGEMENT! (sic)”

“In the last two and a half years of adjusting to life after separation and divorce, I needed to lean on others more often than I was accustomed to. These people have been gifts, and I am fortunate to have so many of these beautiful people – friends, family and beloved fans, who’s support I cherish more deeply with each day that passes. Now another year is about to pass, and I would like to thank everyone who helped me believe that new beginnings are possible and that love can be trusted.”

I really hope that the second time around is a charm for Shania and Frederic! It must feel so good for both of them to be leaving the drama behind and moving forward with their new life together.

As long as I'm risking humiliation and infamy by linking to TMZ, why not push it?

"American Idol" sources tell TMZ ... the Jennifer Lopez deal isn't dead yet, but if it does flatline ... "Idol's" next choice is country star Shania Twain.
Shania was a hit on "Idol" this past season when she served as guest judge and mentor.

We're told Shania is Plan B.

Shania Twain should publicly and privately be the first choice, not the "plan B." Jennifer Lopez cannot open or carry a film and she has, what? Six legitimate cinematic bombs on her resume now?

Did you know Miss Lopez put out a film this year? Did you see it? Of course not. No one goes to see a Jennifer Lopez film, save Jennifer Lopez, her husband, and the hired help. It's pathetic and sad. At some point, these three people won't be making films anymore: Jennifer Lopez, Woody Allen, and Steve Carell. Oh, sure. Popular folks. Talented folks. Just, please...please! A Woody Allen film starring Steve Carell might send me over the brink, especially if Jennifer Lopez plays his long-suffering but witty girlfriend who happens to be a ghost living in Woody's apartment building.

Where the devil was I?

If Shania and her people get wind of this sort of thing, expect her to gently decline. The lady is the personification of show business royalty. She has middle America wrapped around her finger. People will tune in just to hear Shania be pleasant. That housewife who didn't want to have anything to do with American Idol last year because of all of the "freaky" people? Yes, well, she'll go out and get a damned DVR just to make sure that she doesn't miss Shania Twain, sir.  (celebritydisaster)
