Organizers of Japan Fashion Week have announced that the biannual event has been cancelled this season due to the earthquake and tsunami currently devastating the country. The fashion industry has contributed to the relief efforts, with Uniqlo donating over AED 62 million to the cause. Marc Jacobs International has plans to donate to Red Cross Japan, and Lady Gaga's "We Pray for Japan" bracelets (which you can buy here) have raised AED 918,000 thus far.
